Dave Ellis has become the new News Director at WLUC TV6 & Fox UP, marking a significant shift in leadership that aligns with the station’s commitment to excellence and innovation. Having spent over three decades in broadcast and multimedia production, Ellis brings extensive experience across Michigan and beyond, including roles at NBC Sports and the Big Ten Network. He began his career as a sports reporter and later worked as a sports anchor at Lansing-based TV stations, where he honed his storytelling skills and built strong connections with local communities. Ellis also holds a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Michigan State University, emphasizing his analytical approach to media strategy. Prior to joining WLUC, he led multi-platform video storytelling and live event production, while mentoring student journalists and working on athletics programming for Michigan State. His career is deeply rooted in television, and he credits his time at WLUC as shaping his identity as a storyteller and communicator. Under his leadership, the station aims to strengthen its connection with viewers and continue delivering balanced, accurate news across platforms. Ellis will oversee the news department, guiding editorial direction and fostering innovative approaches to engage audiences.
